Privacy Policy
Workspace Viewer
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Workspace Viewer handles information when you use its custom GPT, GPT Actions, hosted service, and local Agent pairing flow.
2. Information we process
Account and authentication data
- GitHub OAuth identity information needed to associate your account with the service, such as GitHub user ID and login name.
- Email address returned by GitHub when available and authorized.
- OAuth authorization and session state needed to complete sign-in securely.
Agent and workspace metadata
- Agent identifiers, display names, connection metadata, and hashed Agent credentials.
- Workspace identifiers, display names, Agent association, access mode, and optional language summary metadata.
- Temporary pairing codes and pairing-session state used to connect a local Agent.
Tool requests and tool results
When you ask ChatGPT to use Workspace Viewer, the service relays authenticated requests to your paired local Agent. Depending on the tool, responses may include workspace summaries, directory trees, file-path matches, file-content matches, or bounded text excerpts from files you chose to expose through your local workspace configuration.
3. Local workspace paths and file contents
- Workspace root paths stay in the local Agent configuration on your device.
- The hosted service stores workspace summaries, not local root paths.
- The service is designed not to intentionally persist local file contents in application storage as part of normal tool operation.
- Requested file-derived results are relayed to fulfill the tool call and may be included in the response delivered to ChatGPT for your request.
4. How information is used
- Authenticate users and authorize access to paired Agents and registered workspaces.
- Create and complete Agent pairing sessions.
- Route read-only workspace inspection requests to the correct Agent.
- Return tool results to ChatGPT so it can answer your request.
- Operate, secure, debug, and maintain the service.
5. Sharing
Workspace Viewer does not sell personal information. Information is processed only as needed to operate the service, provide the requested tool results, comply with applicable obligations, or respond to valid legal requests.
6. Retention
- Account, Agent, and workspace metadata may be retained while your Workspace Viewer access remains active.
- Temporary pairing sessions are short-lived and are not intended for long-term use.
- You may request account-related deletion or review by contacting support.
7. Your choices
- You choose which local folders to register as workspaces.
- You can remove local workspace entries from the Agent configuration.
- You can stop the Agent at any time to make local workspaces unavailable.
- You can contact support for privacy-related requests.
8. Security
Workspace Viewer uses authentication, pairing controls, hashed Agent credentials, and workspace-scoped access controls. No security measure is perfect, but the service is designed to reduce unnecessary exposure of local project data.
